X. brachycerus in yellow-green color with brown plots. The head is square. A pair of large and brown eyes. A pair of green-yellow antennae with brown tips. The neck is covered by a square layer with the bottom-front having a diagonal angle.
The stomach is cylindrical, segmented and the end has a pair of horns. Perfect wings, long with rounded tips, narrow when seen from above and covering only the upper part of the stomach, the veins are linear and blackish brown when folded.
The hind legs are large, have five corners, the inside is red, the outside is green-yellow with two brown bands and the legs have a row of spines on the back. The forelegs and the middle pair of legs have a green-yellow color with brown mottling.
