Nargo wasp fly (Nargo nargo) is a species of insect belonging to the family Syrphidae. It is a flying insect characterized by a dark coloration with white and brown accents, giving it a glossy appearance. Its legs terminate in pads, and its elongated abdomen features several folds. This species inhabits areas at an elevation of 1,000 meters.
N. nargo has a semi-circular head, with a pair of large, black or dark brown eyes positioned on either side. Between the eyes, a pair of antennae emerge; they have a thick, fused base, while the tips are broadened and slightly curved. The neck region is black.
The shoulders feature white stripes on both sides. The dorsal area is somewhat square-shaped with a longitudinal groove; it is primarily black, containing an elliptical, light-brown section, with a black area at the very tip.
The "waist" is tubular, elongated, and relatively thick; it is light brown with black stripes along the top. The abdomen is also tubular and elongated—resembling a water droplet—and is black with several white, transverse folds.
The insect possesses a pair of thin, paper-like wings that are elongated, with narrow bases and broad, rounded tips. The wings are transparent, with a black leading edge and several veins branching out from the base.
The legs are rod-like, consisting of three segments connected by two joints. They exhibit a combination of black, dark brown, and white, with brown pads located at the tips.
