Pindho knotweed (Persicaria runcinata)

Pindho knotweed (Persicaria runcinata) is a species of plant in the Polygonaceae, a low shrub with fallen or erect stems, triangular-shaped leaves and reddish green with silver or brown trimmings, flowers growing at the end of a long stalk.

P. runcinata has brownish green or reddish green or yellowish green stems. The leaves are triangular elongated in shape with a pointed tip and the base has a pair of fins, a bone in the middle with several pinnate veins.

The leaves have white hairs, the upper surface is green with angular decorations and is silver or dark, the lower surface is pale green or reddish green.

The flowers are white and grow at the end of a long stalk. Pindho knotweed grows wild in forests, agricultural land and abandoned lands on slopes, roadsides, humid areas, elevations of up to about 1500 meters.
