Mictini

Mictini is a tribe within Coreidae, insects of varying shape but generally oval, four-segmented antennae, numerous blood vessels in the forewing membrane, and externally visible repugnatorial scent glands and living arboreal in shrubs and low trees.

Mictini has a size of 7-45 mm, varied shapes including wide ovals, elongated and slender. Many species have very slender tibiae, but some species are very broad. Some species are covered with spines and tubercles.

Many species have very large, thick and curved hind femora that are armed with spines on the edges. Nymphs have two protrusions or spots on the medial line of the dorsal surface of the abdomen, one anterior and one posterior.

Tiang fern (Cyathea contaminans)
