E. parvum has leaves sitting alternately along the stem. The upper side is dark green and wavy. The leaf base is attached to the stem and has no stalk. Leaves are oval, asymmetrical, apex sharp, serrated margins and irregular pinnate veins.
Inflorescences in panicles, attached to the stems in the leaf axils, green and then turn brown. The flowers have stalks or no stalks. It grows to form colonies on the rainforest floor at an elevation of 1500 meters.
