Kangkang gunung (Prionolomia heros)

Kangkang gunung or hill big-legged (Prionolomia heros) is a species of squash bugs inside Coreidae, displaying sexual dimorphism and living on branches of woody trees. This insect has a pair of large tibia and a pair of antennas each in four parts.

The most prominent characteristic is pointed angles and spikes on the left and right sides of the upper back. P. heros lives in clay or limestone hills for elevations up to 600 meters above sea level of the Kewu plain. These insects attach to the leaves and branches of large trees, especially Sonokeling or Indian rosewood (Dalbergia latifolia).

Dlium Kangkang gunung (Prionolomia heros)

A pair of big legs and decorated with bumps along the path. Males are larger, slimmer, black, and have bigger thorns on the tibia. Females are smaller in size, body is wider, thorns are smaller in tibia, blackish brown and have white sections on the right and left sides.

Kangkang gunung moves slowly where six legs reach branches and leaves. They go through old age with silence, the body turns gray and slowly decays. P. heros has two subspecies is Prionolomia heros heros and Prionolomia heros ulixes.

Kemadih ( Fagraea ceilanica ) is a species of plant in the Gentianaceae family. It grows as a climber and covers host trees. It is a perennial, multi-branched, hardwood plant with hard, brown bark and dark green young bark. F. ceilanica has thick leaves, 15 cm long and 8 cm wide.
