B. arborea has an erect stem and has many branches. The leaves are oval, pointed tip, dark green, rough surface and have soft white hairs, a large vein in the middle with many pinnate small veins and has a stalk.
The flowers are trumpet-shaped, extending to sub-horizontal, white or ivory or cream, 12-17 cm long and very fragrant. Flowers are produced almost continuously in smaller quantities. The fruit is oval in shape, 6 cm long and 4.5 cm wide.
Angel's trumpet is adaptive to cold weather and drought with rainfall of 400-1,400 mm/year, elevation 2000-3000 m and often receives light frosts. Flowers are pollinated by moths attracted by white color and the scent gets stronger at night.
