Tropical kudzu (Neustanthus phaseoloides)

Puero or tropical kudzu (Neustanthus phaseoloides) is a plant species in Fabaceae, annual shrubs, upright or creeping stems, leaf shape varies greatly, flowers grow in rows at the tip of the stem, seeds in long slender pods, grow on the surface of the soil in forests, land farms and roadsides.

N. phaseoloides has a cylindrical stem, is green or brown in color and has white hair. The leaves have a very varied shape from round, elliptical, elongated to finger and green.

Three leaves at the end of each stem with a short stalk. A bone in the middle with several veins and sub-veins sideways. The surface is rough, uneven, hairy and has a mechanical adhesive.

The flowers grow in rows on the tips of long erect stalks, white or light blue in color with two downward flippers. The pods are elongated, slender and thin, hairy and contain rows of seeds.
